Emissions treatment from foundries

Introduction:

By the production of the cores for casting mixtures with the additive amine (usually triethylamine) are used. During this process emissions with amine content are formed which have a very irritating smell. The production process of core shooters is performed in boxes, so called COLD BOX. The emissions are exhausted and the air is being cleaned in a line that consists of the bag filter to remove the dust in the first stage and of the absorber by scrubbing into the absorption liquid in the second stage.

The packed columns for amine absorption are usually used combined with the first stage for residual dust removal. The desired output concentrations of amine are below 5 mg/m3, so the efficiency must be min. 99,5 percent .
